I appreciate you visiting my website.   Here you will find much information concerning my campaign for U.S. Senate.  I encourage you to take your time in order to gain the information that you need to make a wise choice in the upcoming Republican Primary election.

Dr. Charles Lyonel Gonyo

"In the first place, we should insist that if the  [legal]  immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, . . .  But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American . . . There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one flag, the American flag . . . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language . . .And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."                                                                                    ~Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Gonyo's main concern is the Illegal Immigration crisis that our country faces.

For the past 12 years, he has diligently worked in our southern states, helping to control our borders.  He has first hand experience in this important issue.

How President Eisenhower solved illegal border crossings from Mexico.

George W. Bush isn't the first Republican president to face a full-blown immigration crisis on the US-Mexican Border.

Fifty-five years ago, when newly elected Dwight Eisenhower moved into the White House, America's southern frontier was as porous as a spaghetti sieve.  As many as 3 million illegal migrants had walked and waded northward over a period of several years for jobs in California, Arizona, Texas and points beyond.

President Eisenhower cut off this illegal traffic.  He did it quickly and decisively with only 1,075 United States Border Patrol agents - less than one-tenth of today's force.  The operation is still highly praised among veterans of the Border patrol.

Border Patrol Vets offer tips on illegal immigration

One day in 1954, Border Patrol agent Walt Edwards picked up a newspaper in Big Spring, Texas, and saw some startling news.  The government was launching an all-out drive to oust illegal aliens from the United States. The orders came straight from the top, where the new president, Dwight Eisenhower, had put a former West Point classmate, Gen. Joseph Swing, in charge of immigration enforcement. General Swing's fast-moving campaign soon secured America's border - an accomplishment no other president has since equaled.  Illegal immigration had dropped 95% by the late 1950's.

Several retired Border Patrol agents who took part in the 1950's effort, including Mr. Edwards, say much of what Swing did could be repeated today. "Some say we cannot send 12 million illegal's now in the United States back where they came from.  Of course we can!"  Edwards says. Donald Coppock, who headed the patrol from 1960 to 1973, says that if Swing and Ike were still running immigration enforcement, "they'd be on top of this in-a-minute."

is a serious problem in our country.  Read some FACTS about what it is costing U.S. citizens.

Planning a trip to Mexico?

Watch out!  If you're illegal you may end up in jail.  Read about some laws in Mexico of what they would do to us, if we dared to enter their country illegally.
